The Makers

The Academy of Makers has a series of workshops which are rented out to makers and crafts people who run their own businesses here.

Makers offer work placement opportunities to students from Freeman College and often run courses open to the public - check out our What's On page.

  Anne trained in a hand bindery for six years learning traditional skills and techniques in bookbinding and restoration before setting up her own workshop in Orchard square 17 years ago. Now as part of the Academy of Makers at Butcher Works Anne is able to offer bespoke Albums and Journals, working in leather, paper and silks. She also undertakes restoration and thesis binding. Visitors are welcome to the workshop and course details can be found on the ‘What’s On’ page.
